Cancel a Google Calendar Event on Desktop
If you use a Windows, Mac, Linux, or Chromebook computer, access the Google Calendar site to cancel your event.
To do so, first, open your preferred web browser and launch the Google Calendar site. There, sign in to your account if you have not already.
On the calendar that appears, click the event you want to cancel.
On the event window, at the top, click “Delete Event” (a trash can icon).
You will be asked if you’d like to send a cancellation email to your event guest. To do so, optionally, write a message in the box and then click “Send.” Otherwise, click “Don’t Send.”
Google Calendar will remove the selected event. You are all set.
Don’t forget that if you just need to schedule a new time in Google Calendar, you can do that without canceling.
Cancel a Google Calendar Event on Mobile
On an iPhone, iPad, or Android phone, use the Google Calendar app to cancel your events.
To start, launch the Google Calendar app on your phone. In the app, tap the day on which your event occurs.
In the list of events, tap the event to be deleted.
On the event page, in the top-right corner, tap the three dots.
In the three-dots menu, tap “Delete.”
You will see a “Delete This Event” prompt. Tap “Delete.”
Google Calendar will ask if you’d like to notify the event guests of cancellation via email. To send that email, click “Send.” Otherwise, click “Don’t Send.”
And that’s all there is to cancel an event on Google Calendar.
Next time you plan an event, you can add the event to your Google Calendar right from Google Chat. Check out our guide on that to learn how.
